Boat Rental in Cala d'Or: Mallorca's White Marina in the Southeast
Built in Ibicenco white-cube style, Cala d'Or opens onto a string of small coves and the Drac caves, well away from the bays of Palma and Alcúdia.
Mallorca isn't just Palma and Alcúdia: on the island's southeast coast, Cala d'Or offers a more intimate stretch of water, built around one of the most recognisable architectural styles on the island.
A marina with a distinctive look
Built from the 1930s onward in a deliberately Ibicenco style — white facades, cubic volumes, pale roof tiles — Cala d'Or forms a coherent architectural ensemble rare on this part of the Mallorcan coast, arranged around a sheltered marina.
A cluster of coves sharing its name
The village's name comes from the small coves that surround it — Cala Gran, Cala Ferrera, Caló des Pou — narrow, pine-fringed inlets a few minutes away by boat and far quieter than the wider beaches to the north of the island.
Nearby: the Drac caves
A little further north, Porto Cristo is home to the Coves del Drac, underground caves famous for their internal lake — an easy shore excursion to pair with a day on the water if your schedule allows an extra half-day.
Sheltered sailing
Mallorca's southeast coast is generally less exposed to strong winds than the Bay of Palma, making it a solid choice for a first outing or a family trip, particularly when a tramontana is blowing elsewhere.
Budget and comparison
RIB €200-600 a day, sailboat €300-700. Cala d'Or complements our Mallorca: Palma and Alcúdia guide — compare offers across all three bases on Boat-Comparator depending on which part of the island you're heading to.
