Boat-Comparator is a boat rental meta-search: one search queries Boataround, SamBoat, Click&Boat and GlobeSailor and ranks the offers they actually publish by price. Free, no account; booking always happens on the platform you choose.

Who runs the site

The site is designed, built and edited by Clément Lacaille, founder of Tech-Bharat, a software and AI engineering agency. He is also the publication director: he answers messages and fixes reported errors. The project started from a simple observation: the same boat lists at different prices depending on the platform, and nobody published the prices actually charged.

What the site does, and what it does not

It queries Boataround’s public API and the public structured data (schema.org) of SamBoat, Click&Boat and GlobeSailor pages live.
It never invents an offer: GetMyBoat and Boatsetter, which have no public access, are shown as “partnership required”.
It sells nothing, handles no payment and does not rate the platforms. It has no affiliation agreement to date: no ranking is paid for.

Method: where the observed prices come from

Every night at 4 am (UTC), a collector runs a real search on one seventh of the destinations, for a departure 30 days out and a one-day rental: each destination is therefore read once a week. For each search it stores the minimum, median and maximum daily price and the number of offers, across all platforms, per platform and per boat type (license-free, RIB, motorboat, sailboat, catamaran, yacht).

As of 20 Oct 2026, the database holds 2,670 recorded searches (one per destination per week) across 183 destinations, from 4 Jul 2026 to 20 Oct 2026: 152,845 offers observed in total and 23,691 statistics rows (per platform and per boat type). These figures recompute at every site update.

The limits, stated plainly

Displayed prices, not paid prices: public prices at reading time, before options and service fees. SamBoat and Click&Boat “from” prices are flagged as such in the results.
Capped depth: the offer count is what each platform exposes publicly (about 23 boats on SamBoat’s first page, 15 on Click&Boat, up to 3 pages of Boataround). An indicator of visible supply, not actual fleet size.
Weekly prices: GlobeSailor publishes weekly prices, converted to a daily figure (divided by seven).
Outliers: a very low minimum can come from a mislabelled offer or an hourly rate. We publish readings as they are and read the median first.
One horizon: a departure 30 days out. Last-minute prices or bookings six months ahead can differ.

Aggregates are published on the boat rental statistics page and, destination by destination, in the “observed prices” block of the relevant pages.

Editorial content

Guides are published under the editor’s responsibility, who answers for them. Rules: no invented review or figure, prices come from our readings or the platforms’ published rates, cited studies link to their DOI. Found an error? Write to us: it gets fixed and the page’s update date changes.
