Boat rental in Cannes: compare every platform
Cannes (French Riviera) is one of the busiest rental ports on the French coast — yet each platform only shows its own catalogue. Boat-Comparator queries them all in a single search and ranks the offers by real price.
Which boat for which day in Cannes?
Three formats cover most Cannes rentals. The license-free boat (6 hp, €100–250/day) is enough to anchor at the Lérins islands, barely a nautical mile off Pointe Croisette. The RIB (€200–600/day, French coastal license required above 6 hp) opens up the Estérel and the tour of Cap d'Antibes. The crewed yacht starts around €2,500/day for 15 metres — fuel on top, almost always billed on actual consumption.
September: the regulars' window
The sea hits its warmest of the year in September, the quays breathe again after the French rentrée, and operators' rate cards drop 25–35% below August. Booking two to four weeks out is the norm then: our last-minute boat rental guide explains how to make the most of it.
Cannes's waters, in practice
The bay of Cannes, edged by the red Estérel rocks to the west and closed off to the south by the Lérins islands, under two miles off the Croisette. Wind-wise: moderate sea breezes in summer; mistral and easterly blows wake up mostly out of season.
Departures, day-trip classics and season
Departures: the Vieux-Port below the Suquet and Port Canto at the eastern end of the Croisette. The local classics: Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat (the Lérins islands), the Esquillon headland and the Théoule calanques on the Estérel side. High season: from May to September, from the Film Festival to the Yachting Festival.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a boat rental cost in Cannes?
Roughly €100–250 per day for a license-free boat, €200–600 for a RIB, more for motorboats, sailboats and catamarans. Boat-Comparator compares the real prices published by the platforms at the time of your search.
Do I need a license to rent a boat in Cannes?
In France, motorboats rent license-free up to 6 hp (4.5 kW); above that, the French coastal license or an equivalent title is required. Sail needs no license at all. Operators check papers at the pontoon — if in doubt about a specific model, ask for the engine's real power before booking.
Which platforms list boats in Cannes?
Boat-Comparator queries Boataround, SamBoat, Click&Boat and GlobeSailor live, showing price, photo, rating and booking link for every offer.
Can you reach the Lérins islands from Cannes without a license?
Yes: the islands lie one nautical mile off Pointe Croisette, twenty to thirty minutes at 5 knots from the Vieux-Port or Port Canto. Around the islands, speed is capped at 5 knots and you must anchor on sand only — never in the protected posidonia meadows.
Which port does a Cannes boat rental leave from?
Either the Vieux-Port (central, below the Suquet) or Port Canto (at the eastern end of the Croisette, smoother boarding for larger units). The exact pontoon appears in the platform’s booking confirmation — check it the day before.
