Port Fréjus 2 is 1.1 km away, Port Fréjus 1.3 km, Saint-Raphaël 2.5 km, Santa-Lucia and its 1,500 berths 4.2 km, Saint-Aygulf 4.6 km, Boulouris 6 km, Port Ferréol 8.4 km — 67 marinas in all inside the 60 km radius, the 26th density of our 183 bases (OpenStreetMap data, ODbL). This coast has not always looked like this: the Roman harbour of Forum Iulii, which sheltered a war fleet, silted up. A study by Jean-Philippe Degeai and colleagues, published in 2020 in Marine Geology, reconstructed sediment fluxes in the Argens delta over the late Holocene: between 15,800 ± 2,300 and 52,000 ± 8,500 m³ per year, peaking between 2,500 and 2,000 years before present, in step with increased river flooding in south-eastern France (see the study). What is left today: a shallow sandy bay, an Argens channel to respect and, as soon as you head east, red rock. September: −3%, and a mistral funnelled by the valley

The median moves from €377 for August outings to €367 for September ones (3 and 4 readings), i.e. −3%: the shoulder-season discount is marginal here, the Fréjus bay living off families and Estérel divers who spread the season out. What really changes is the wind: the Argens valley funnels the mistral and pushes it beam-on across the bay some days, while the sea stays flat a couple of miles away under the Estérel.
