What a day afloat in Golfe-Juan actually costs

Our nightly collection queries all four platforms for the same outing date, thirty days before departure. Reading of 21 August 2026 for a 20 September outing: 60 offers, a median of €627 per day, first offer at €187. Category by category, on that same reading: RIB €449 median (10 offers, from €292), motorboat €890 (21 offers, from €187), sailboat €508 (6 offers), yacht €3,980 (10 offers, from €2,100). The gap between categories weighs far more than the gap between platforms: pick the boat format first.

Two miles to the Lérins — and what anchoring there demands

The bay is sheltered from the levant by Cap d’Antibes and opens due south onto Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, barely two miles out: the shortest run on the French Riviera to a genuine island anchorage. Two departure harbours (OpenStreetMap records): Port Camille Rayon, dug deep for larger units, and the Vieux Port of the historic operators; Port Gallice and Port du Croûton lie three kilometres away, Port Vauban four and a half. On site, the Plateau du Milieu between the two islands is carpeted with seagrass: anchor on the pale sand patches, never in the posidonia. A 2022 study by Pergent-Martini et al. in the Journal of Sea Research measured, in the single bay of Sant’Amanza in Corsica, a 7.5-hectare loss of meadow in one year attributed to large-yacht anchoring (see the study). Our Cannes and Lérins boat trips and the anchoring guide map the spots.

September in Golfe-Juan: warm sea, but not the discount you expect

Our readings say the opposite of the intuition. Next door, the median drops clearly between August and September outings — Mandelieu €674 → €546, Nice €720 → €635. In Golfe-Juan it rises: €636 → €717. The explanation is not a rate increase but a composition effect: the small units go first, and the fleet still open thirty days out is bigger. In practice: here the late-season bargain sits on license-free boats and RIBs, not on the overall median. Our last-minute rental guide shows where the short window really pays.

Golfe-Juan's waters, in practice

A bay sheltered by Cap d’Antibes to the east and open due south onto the Lérins islands, barely two miles out. Wind-wise: waters fairly well protected from the levant by the cape, stirred by the afternoon sea breezes.

Departures, day-trip classics and season

Departures: the deep-water Port Camille Rayon, built for larger units, and the Vieux Port of the historic operators. The local classics: the Plateau du Milieu between Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, the loop around Cap d’Antibes and the Croisette seen from the water. High season: from May to September, in the wake of the Cannes calendar.
