Boat Rental in San Antonio: Ibiza's Sunset Side
Facing San Antonio bay, the cliffs of the island's famous sunset bars and the Es Vedrà islet within easy reach: Ibiza's west coast, seen from the water.
Ibiza's second-largest harbour after the capital, San Antonio sits on a wide, west-facing bay — an orientation that has made it, for decades, the island's sunset rendezvous.
A bay built for the sunset
The cliffs lining the bay to the north have hosted, since the 1980s, bars that became legendary for watching the sun sink into the sea — a sight just as good from a boat at anchor, away from the crowded terraces.
Heading to Es Vedrà
South of the bay, the islet of Es Vedrà, a rocky silhouette rising sheer from the sea, is under an hour away: one of the most photographed anchorages in the Balearics, protected as a nature reserve.
Conillera island
Closer to hand, off San Antonio, the islet of Conillera and its clear waters offer a quieter alternative for a late-morning swim stop, before the sea breeze picks up.
Choosing a boat
RIB €200–600 a day for a sunset outing; catamaran or sailboat with skipper for a full day out to Es Vedrà and Formentera. Posidonia seagrass beds around these islets are strictly protected: anchoring is regulated, with steep fines for dropping anchor in the grass.
