Yacht Rental in Antibes: Port Vauban and Cap d'Antibes

Yacht rental in Antibes: boarding at Port Vauban, cruising around the Cap d'Antibes, sheltered anchorages, what the daily rate covers and how to compare.

Antibes is one of the best starting points on the French Riviera for a day on a yacht: Port Vauban is vast and well organised, the Cap d'Antibes can be rounded in an hour of easy cruising, and both the Lérins Islands and the bay of Nice stay within reach. Here is how the day unfolds, and what it really costs.

Port Vauban, straightforward boarding

Set against the ramparts of the old town, Port Vauban is one of the largest marinas in Europe, hosting everything from twelve-metre motorboats to very large yachts. For a charter guest this is a practical advantage: wide pontoons, easy access and provisioning right next door. Your operator confirms the exact quay the day before; the safety briefing and boat handover take around twenty minutes before departure.

Rounding the Cap d'Antibes

Straight out of the harbour, head south along the ramparts, then on to La Garoupe and its bay anchored over pale sand — an ideal morning swim stop before the crowds arrive. You then round the lighthouse and the villas of the cape to discover the wilder shore: the Anse de l'Argent Faux with its deep clear water, then the long curve of the Golfe-Juan, well protected in easterly winds. Depending on the mood, the afternoon continues towards the Lérins Islands or the Baie des Anges.

In an established easterly, the programme happily reverses: a sheltered morning in the Golfe-Juan or at the islands, then the cape in the afternoon once the breeze softens. That is one of Antibes' great strengths: whatever the day's weather, there is almost always a protected shore where the outing stays pleasant, and the skipper adjusts the route without you losing anything in the exchange. It also means a morning departure is rarely wasted here, even when the forecast looks uncertain from the beach.

What the daily rate covers

Yachts start from around €2,500 a day, with a skipper all but mandatory. That price generally includes the boat, the crew and basic insurance; fuel is very often billed on actual engine hours, and extras (catering, water toys, a hostess) are added on request. Platforms also charge service fees of 0 to 9%. Our guide to day yacht charter on the French Riviera goes through every line to check before you sign.

Finding the right boat at the right price

From one platform to another, the same yacht frequently shows a 10 to 25% price gap. Boat-Comparator queries Boataround, SamBoat, Click&Boat and GlobeSailor live and puts yachts for rent in Antibes side by side, with no affiliation to any platform.
