BOAT-COMPARATOR Guide
Boat Rental in Perros-Guirec, on the Pink Granite Coast
The Sept-Îles seabird reserve, Roscoff and the Île de Batz: renting a boat on the Pink Granite Coast, in northern Brittany.
In northern Brittany, the Pink Granite Coast lines up pink boulders sculpted by erosion, unique in France for their colour — a landscape best seen from the water.
Perros-Guirec and the Sept-Îles
Perros-Guirec is the classic departure port for cruising along the pink rocks of Ploumanac'h before reaching the Sept-Îles archipelago, a designated national nature reserve. Île Rouzic hosts France's largest colony of northern gannets, alongside puffins and many other seabirds — landing is banned to protect the nests, but watching from the boat at a respectful distance is a classic outing here.
Roscoff and the Île de Batz
Further west, Roscoff is a historic port built around thalassotherapy and the seaweed trade, with a short crossing to the Île de Batz and its exotic garden, made possible by the local microclimate.
Sailing by the tide
As along the whole Breton coast, the tidal range here is significant: check our Atlantic tides guide before heading out, especially when approaching the Sept-Îles at low tide.
