BOAT-COMPARATOR Guide
Boat Rental in Sitges and Cambrils, on the Costa Daurada
A beach town minutes from Barcelona and a former fishing port in Tarragona province: renting a boat on Catalonia's Costa Daurada.
South of Barcelona, Catalonia's Costa Daurada ("golden coast") takes its name from its long pale-sand beaches — a different coastal profile from the rockier coves of the Costa Brava further north.
Sitges, at Barcelona's doorstep
Sitges sits less than half an hour's drive from Barcelona airport, making it a handy base for a day trip without straying far from the Catalan capital. The town is also known for its carnival, one of the liveliest in Spain, and for its modernist seafront houses.
Cambrils, a former fishing port
Cambrils, in Tarragona province, has kept its working fishing harbour alongside its marina — a more local feel than the more touristy resorts along the Catalan coast, with a fish auction that still supplies the seafront restaurants.
A sheltered stretch of water
The coastline here runs straighter and is less exposed to wind than the Costa Brava, with fewer coves but often calmer water, well suited to a first family outing.
Two bases, one stretch of coast
Sitges and Cambrils bracket a good stretch of the Costa Daurada between them, under an hour's drive apart — worth comparing availability at both ports before picking your starting base.
Budget and comparison
License-free €100-250 a day, RIB €200-600, sailboat €300-700 — the same ranges as the rest of the Spanish coast. Boat-Comparator compares platforms live for Sitges and Cambrils.
