Sailboat rental in Göcek

Göcek (Turkish Riviera) is one of Turkey's major charter bases: sheltered coves, traditional gulets and prices often gentler than in the western Mediterranean. Boat-Comparator compares the major platforms' fleets live for the same dates.

Renting a sailboat in Göcek trades horsepower for silence: a day beating along the coast, or a real week-long cruise with nights at anchor. Monohulls from 30 to 42 feet dominate the market, split between professional fleets and private owners.

Little-known fact: in France, sailing requires no license — but operators demand demonstrable experience (a sailing résumé) for bareboat charters. Otherwise, renting with a skipper turns the day into a private lesson. Expect €300–700 per day, €1,500–4,000 per week.

€365 to get in: Göcek has no bargain sailboat

Survey of 6 September 2026 for a 6 October departure: 19 sailboats, a €531 daily median, from €365 to €3,800. This base’s paradox sits in two rankings. On depth, Göcek is the 29th deepest sailboat catalogue of our 181 bases: there is choice. On the floor, it ranks only 131st by ascending entry price: nothing charters under €365 in this category here. The contrast inside the same survey is striking — the day’s 57 offers, all categories combined, start at €143 for an €830 median: the cheap listing does exist in Göcek, just not under sail. Rest of the survey: yacht at €1,300 on 21 offers (€690 to €8,730), catamaran at €847 on 8 offers (€638 to €1,278), motorboat on a single listing (€901). Six marinas for one village, and sediments that talk

Göcek counts a few thousand inhabitants and six boating bases inside the first two kilometres (OpenStreetMap data, ODbL): the Municipality Marina at 100 m, Skopea Marina at 200 m (80 berths), D-Marin Göcek at 500 m (530 berths), Marintürk Göcek Village at 700 m (340 berths), Club Marina at 1.4 km and Setur Göcek Exclusive Marina at 1.6 km; then Kapi Creek at 12.8 km and the port of Fethiye at 20.5 km, for 18 harbours within 60 km — see the marina hub around Göcek. That density has a measured downside: a study by Halil İbrahim Gülşen-Rothmund, Şebnem Arslan, Bedri Kurtuluş and co-authors, published in 2023 in Marine Pollution Bulletin, assessed trace metal pollution in the coastal sediments of Fethiye-Göcek Bay from 69 sampling points; distribution maps for eleven elements show enrichment especially near Fethiye harbour, contamination described as considerable in arsenic, cobalt, chromium and nickel, and even the minimum nickel concentrations already 9-fold enriched relative to Earth crust values; among the anthropogenic sources identified are the fuel oils used near crowded harbours (see the study). Translated for a week under sail: swim in the Twelve Islands coves, not at the head of a harbour. See Göcek or Fethiye and Bodrum, Göcek and Fethiye.

€445, €672, €531: three monthly medians to read together

By departure month the category gives €445 for August 2026 (3 surveys, €286 to €3,575), €672 for September (5 surveys, €92 to €4,463) and €531 for October (1 survey, €365 to €3,800). The August-to-September rise is not a rate rise: an operator does not change its price list between two of our passes. It is a composition effect — and the floor proves it, since it drops to €92 in September while the median climbs. Two points of honesty about this base: no "license-free" offer has ever been recorded in Göcek, on any date, which is consistent with the Turkish rule; and we do not publish the RIB line of 23 August (€175/328/445), whose signature is shared with three other destinations the same day — a probable artefact. On qualifications, Turkey in practice requires a recognised licence to go out alone: most of the market runs with a local captain, often included in the displayed price, which is frequently the better deal. When to sail in Göcek

Göcek (Turkish Riviera, Turkey) — Crewed gulets are a local institution, often leaving from Bodrum, Göcek or Fethiye. April–June and September–October are the most pleasant.
