Boat Rental in Bormes-les-Mimosas: Cap Bénat Between Le Lavandou and Porquerolles

La Favière marina, Cap Bénat and Estagnol beach: Bormes-les-Mimosas opens onto a protected stretch of coast between Le Lavandou and the Hyères islands.

Listed among France's "most beautiful villages," Bormes-les-Mimosas overlooks the sea from its flower-lined lanes — but boat rental starts lower down, at La Favière marina, on a stretch of coast that has stayed largely wild between Le Lavandou and Porquerolles.

La Favière, Bormes' marina

La Favière marina, one of the largest on the French Riviera, gives direct access to Cap Bénat without passing through the busiest parts of the Giens peninsula.

Cap Bénat, a protected headland

Cap Bénat closes the bay to the east: its rocky coves and umbrella-pine cover have largely escaped development, partly because Fort de Brégançon, the French president's summer residence, occupies part of the shoreline — a maritime security perimeter can be put in place offshore during official stays, worth checking before approaching.

Estagnol beach

Between the marina and the Cap, Estagnol beach, lined with pines down to the sand, remains a classic day-trip anchorage — best reached early in high season, as it fills up fast.

Choosing a boat, when to sail

RIB €200–600 a day to range between Le Lavandou and Porquerolles; licence-free boat €100–250 a day to stay within the bay. Summer is the most stable season, the coast being largely sheltered from the mistral by the Maures massif.
