Renting a Yacht in Mandelieu-la-Napoule
Hire a yacht in Mandelieu-la-Napoule: La Napoule bay, Théoule and the Estérel corniche. Budget, skipper, anchorages and how to compare listings.
Mandelieu-la-Napoule, west of Cannes, is an ideal base for hiring a yacht at the foot of the Estérel massif. You set off from a quieter stretch of water than Cannes bay, facing dramatic red rock, with quick access to some of the finest anchorages on the French Riviera. It is a discreet starting point for an upmarket day out without the crowds of the big harbours. Whether you have a family lunch afloat or a sunset cruise in mind, this base sets a calm, unhurried tone for the whole day.
La Napoule bay as a starting point
The Mandelieu harbours — La Napoule, La Rague, Cannes-Marina — hold a good choice of cruisers and yachts, with easier parking than central Cannes. You board opposite La Napoule castle and reach Pointe de l’Aiguille and Théoule-sur-Mer within minutes. Being close to the motorway and to Nice airport makes planning easy, even for a spur-of-the-moment outing with friends or a family celebration. Operators here list both recent day boats and larger crewed yachts. In the shoulder season the same berths are quieter and easier to reach by car.
Théoule, the Estérel and red coves
Along the Estérel corniche, string together the Anthéor calanques, Pointe de l’Esquillon and the clear water off Cap Roux, where the red rock stands out against the deep blue. Eastward, the Lérins islands are within reach for a sheltered lunch stop. A crewed yacht lets you enjoy swimming and paddleboarding while the skipper handles navigation along this rocky coast, where some seabeds call for care. Set off early in summer to secure your spot in the most sought-after coves. A short hop further west opens the Bay of Cannes and its own anchorages if you fancy a longer loop.
Budget and crew
A yacht hires from 2,500 €/day, and the skipper, all but compulsory at this size, costs 150-350 €/day. For a lighter outing, a cruiser (250-900 €/day) covers the same shoreline and suits a half-day very well. Fuel is rarely included and a deposit may be requested at boarding: ask for the detail before you book. Platform service fees range from 0 to 9 %, a line not to overlook in the total. Ask upfront whether cleaning, mooring and an end-of-day fuel top-up are billed on return.
Finding the best deal
On the same yacht, the gap between platforms reaches 10-25 %. Boat-Comparator queries Boataround, SamBoat, Click&Boat and GlobeSailor at once for your chosen date, saving you ten open tabs. Compare neighbouring bases too: leaving from Mandelieu rather than Cannes can trim the bill without changing your plan. See the yacht rental in Mandelieu page, the day yacht charter on the French Riviera guide and the yacht charter hub. Cancellation varies by operator: check each listing.
