33 yachts, a €4,000 median — exactly the Alimos figure

Survey of 31 August 2026 for a 30 September departure: 33 yachts, a €4,000 daily median, from €1,440 to €17,143. That is the 3rd deepest yacht catalogue of our 139 bases. The interesting part is the neighbourly comparison: in Alimos, six kilometres further south, our 3 September survey (for a 3 October departure) gives 17 yachts and exactly the same median, €4,000, from €2,000 to €10,714. Yet the two bases look nothing alike across all categories: Athens comes out at a €1,940 median on 93 offers, Alimos at €1,300 on 63 offers, a 49% gap. The lesson is clean: what separates two neighbouring bases is never the price of the yacht, it is the make-up of their catalogue. Still on 31 August: sailboat at a €596 median on 28 offers (from €186), catamaran at €948 on 10 offers (from €488), motorboat at €1,725 on 10 offers (€600 to €2,800), RIB on a single listing (€380). The yacht therefore costs 2.3 times the motorboat and 6.7 times the sailboat on the same date: the widest between-category spread in the whole gulf. We do not publish the Athens license-free line (€507, survey of 10 August): its signature is shared with eight other destinations the same day, which points to a collection artefact rather than a real offer. Marinas in a chain, and a gulf with zones to avoid

Athens’ south coast strings its bases together (OpenStreetMap data, ODbL): Zea Marina 300 m from the Piraeus reference point, Alimos Marina at 5.5 km, Agios Kosmas at 9.6 km, the four Glyfada marinas between 10.6 and 12.3 km (259, 253, 94 and 146 berths), Voula at 14.8 km and Vouliagmeni at 18.5 km — 30 harbours within 60 km, listed on the marina hub around Athens. On the state of the gulf, a study by Konstantina Kouvara, Angeliki Kosmopoulou, Elias Fakiris and co-authors, published in 2024 in Marine Pollution Bulletin, combines beach and underwater surveys in the Saronikos Gulf: average beach litter density reaches 2.61 items per m², plastic dominating (small polystyrene fragments and cigarette butts), the western part of the gulf carries the highest densities because of surface circulation, densities peak in autumn, and benthic litter density is 23 times higher in shallow water than at depth (see the study).
