Sanremo, city of flowers

Sanremo built its reputation on the intensive flower farming that gives the whole region its name, the Riviera dei Fiori (Riviera of Flowers). The town, also known for its casino and famous song festival, has one of Italy's largest marinas, Porto Sole.

Imperia, olive oil capital

Imperia, formed by the merger of two older towns (Oneglia and Porto Maurizio), is the historic heart of Ligurian olive oil production — a museum entirely devoted to it can be visited straight from the harbour.
