Boat Rental in Macinaggio: The Wild Tip of Cap Corse

Past Erbalunga and Sisco, the Cap Corse road climbs and drops all the way to its northern tip: Macinaggio, a small marina that remains the best base for exploring this still-unspoilt coastline, far from the island's busier southern gulfs.
Macinaggio, gateway to the Cap
The harbour, one of the largest on Corsica's east coast, is a natural starting point for the far tip of the Cap: a few miles is all it takes to reach the coves and Genoese watchtowers that punctuate this still-rural shoreline.
Barcaggio and the Finocchiarola islands
North of Macinaggio, the sandy beach of Barcaggio leads to the Finocchiarola islands, a three-islet nature reserve: landing is forbidden, but boats can cruise past to watch the seabirds that nest there, including the Mediterranean shag.
The Giraglia lighthouse
Further on, at the very tip of the Cap, the islet of la Giraglia carries a lighthouse marking the boundary between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the western Mediterranean — a symbolic landmark many sailors tick off their route without ever landing.
An exposed coastline
