Sant Antoni €174, Ibiza €683, Santa Eulària €1,140: one island, three price levels

The most useful fact in this survey is not about Ibiza town but about the whole island. In the same category and the same week, Sant Antoni de Portmany comes out at a €174 median on 14 offers (surveyed 1 September, €81 to €417) and Santa Eulària at €1,140 on 32 offers (surveyed 2 September, €290 to €3,290). That is a factor of 6.6 between two harbours 21 kilometres apart, with Ibiza town in between. Nobody is renting the same boats: Sant Antoni lines up day hulls for the sunset run across the bay, Santa Eulària charter day cruisers. Picking your departure port weighs more here than picking your date. Formentera, 19 km away, comes out at €420 on 30 offers. Five harbours inside the first kilometre and a half (OpenStreetMap data, ODbL): Ibiza Magna at 0.5 km, PortIbizaTown and Club Náutico Ibiza at 0.6 km, Marina Ibiza at 1.1 km and Marina Botafoch at 1.4 km, below Dalt Vila; after that you have to travel — Marina Santa Eulalia (12.5 km), Nautic Sant Antoni (13.7 km), Marina de Formentera (19.5 km) —, for 12 harbours in total within 60 km, listed on the marina hub around Ibiza. On anchoring, the pressure is documented: a study by Gaetano Cerchiello, published in 2018 in Investigaciones Turísticas, analyses the anchoring of recreational boats on a Spanish Mediterranean shore where "recreational boat traffic has reached a high degree of saturation in recent years" — the case of Jávea, in the province of Alicante — and details the damage anchoring does to seagrass meadows along with the measures taken locally, set against other Western Mediterranean destinations (see the study). The Es Freus anchorage between Ibiza and Formentera follows the same logic: sand, never the seagrass.
