You do not board in a harbour, you board in a doca

Doca da Marinha is 1.8 km from the centre, Doca de Alcântara 3.3 km, Poço do Bispo 3.9 km, Santo Amaro 4.2 km, Parque das Nações marina 5.5 km, Belém 6.3 km, Bom Sucesso 7.1 km, Pedrouços 8.1 km, Algés 8.8 km, then the south bank with Seixal at 9.1 km: 26 harbours inside the 60 km radius, nearly all urban and strung along the Tagus (OpenStreetMap data, ODbL). Renting in Lisbon therefore means navigating a busy estuary — one where common dolphins have returned. A study by Iolanda M. Silva and colleagues, published in 2024 in Animals, watched the estuary from shore between March 2022 and March 2023: across 67 events representing 48.9 hours of sightings, the "neutral reaction" dominates when a vessel is nearby, but the negative reaction is five times more frequent than the positive one, with animals more likely to switch to travelling when vessels approach (see the study). The median moves from €1,001 for August outings to €984 for September ones (4 readings each side), i.e. −2%: in Lisbon the shoulder season is not a discount, it is comfort — less traffic in the estuary and a nortada that calms down. The categories diverge, incidentally: the catamaran climbs from €1,508 to €1,994 while the yacht stays at €4,975, which is fleet composition, not a price list.
