Boat rental in Marmaris: compare every platform
Marmaris (Turkish Riviera) is one of Turkey's major charter bases: sheltered coves, traditional gulets and prices often gentler than in the western Mediterranean. Boat-Comparator compares the major platforms' fleets live for the same dates.
A catalogue that is 52% sailboats, and zero RIBs
Reading of 29 August 2026 for a 28 September outing: 58 offers, median €776 per day, first offer at €110, the dearest at €9,000. The mix is the real story: the sailboat accounts for 30 offers out of 58, i.e. 52% of the catalogue, at a €574 median (€193 to €9,000); the catamaran has 10 offers at €1,229 (€357 to €4,003) and the yacht 3 offers at €4,025. Against that, our collection returns no RIB and no "licence-free" offer in Marmaris, on any date. That is not a data gap but the Turkish market itself: bareboat rental in practice requires a recognised licence, and most outings run with a skipper or local captain, often included in the displayed price. Marmaris remains the 2nd cheapest of our eight Turkish bases. See choosing the right platform, gulets and sailing in Turkey and prices by country.
Twenty-three harbours in the radius, and a bay that closes in
Netsel Marina is 800 metres from the centre, Albatros Marina 1.4 km, a second Albatros 1.6 km, Adaköy Marina and its 200 berths 4.1 km, Marmaris Yacht Marina 4.8 km, then you leave the bay: Kumlubükü at 11.7 km, Karacasöğüt at 12.6 km deep inside the Gulf of Gökova, the two Marti Marinas at 12.4 and 15.4 km, Selimiye at 22.3 km — 23 harbours inside the 60 km radius (OpenStreetMap data, ODbL). Marmaris sits between two protected areas, Gökova to the north and Datça-Bozburun to the west, and that is where anchoring becomes the question. A study by Vahit Alan and Fikret Öndes, published in 2026 in Mediterranean Marine Science, surveyed stakeholders in both zones: 81% of tour boat owners state that they anchor in Posidonia oceanica meadows during their tours, with an average of 3 ± 1 anchorages per day; in Gökova's no-fishing zones, meadow coverage and shoot density are higher than in the fishing zone (see the study). On a rented boat the translation is simple: aim for clear sand, not the dark patch. See the marinas around Marmaris and the Marmaris guide.
September: +11%, a mix effect and not a price list
The median moves from €629 for August outings to €696 for September ones (4 readings each side). We do not present that rise as a tariff increase: on a base that is 52% sailboats, it mostly reflects what the collection samples — larger units and weekly deals weigh more in the September readings. The breakdown shows it: the sailboat goes from €448 to €534, the catamaran from €907 to €997, but the motorboat drops from €1,500 to €675. First to last offer on the latest reading is a ratio of 1 to 82: exactly the ground where a headline price means nothing — see "from" price versus firm price, Bodrum or Marmaris and which base in Turkey.
Marmaris's waters, in practice
An almost landlocked bay, one of the Aegean’s best natural shelters, opening onto the Hisarönü gulf. Wind-wise: a meltemi largely filtered by the hills — the inner bay often stays flat while whitecaps run offshore.
Departures, day-trip classics and season
Departures: the big marinas of Marmaris bay, among Turkey’s best equipped. The local classics: the Turunç and Kumlubük bays, the Hisarönü gulf towards Datça, and Greek Symi for those clearing customs. High season: from May to October, some of the best value in Mediterranean chartering.
