Yacht rental in Monaco
Monaco (Riviera) is one of the busiest rental ports on the French coast — yet each platform only shows its own catalogue. Boat-Comparator queries them all in a single search and ranks the offers by real price.
A yacht day in Monaco is the full experience: skipper (sometimes a stewardess) included, champagne on ice, anchoring off the beaches everyone else watches from shore. Units from 15 to 25 metres dominate day charter.
Budget: from €2,500 per day, fuel often billed on actual consumption — an item that can reach 20% of the total, worth clarifying before booking. A professional skipper is almost always mandatory, and rightly so: they know every anchorage in the bay.

€7,400 median: the 13th priciest of our 139 yacht surveys
Survey of 31 August 2026 for a 30 September departure: 9 yachts in Monaco, median €7,400 per day, ceiling €17,200. Across the 139 bases where our surveys produce a usable yacht median, Monaco is the 13th most expensive — not the dearest we track, but in the top tenth. We publish no entry price for this category: the lowest value in the survey appears identically on four other bases the same week, which is the signature of a collection duplicate rather than a real Monaco listing. The figure would flatter and it would be wrong: we would rather not give it. So keep the median and the ceiling, which rest on 9 distinct offers. By departure month, our surveys give €6,138 for August 2026 departures (4 surveys) and €7,016 for September ones (4 surveys): that 14 % rise is not a rate rise — an operator does not change its price list between two of our passes — but a composition effect, the units present differing from one month to the next. The yacht day charter price breakdown unpacks the bill, and our tips for chartering a yacht for less cover the real levers.
€1,485 for a motorboat: the "yacht day" most people are actually after
In the same 31 August survey, on the same date and for the same departure, the motorboat comes out at a €1,485 median on 22 offers, from €400 to €8,000: five times less than the yacht, on the base's deepest catalogue. The sailboat is at €834 on 6 offers. The survey's 49 offers, all categories combined, run from €232 to €17,200 for a €1,106 median. The conclusion is useful before you start comparing: a day in Monaco under €2,000 does exist, but it is a motorboat, not a yacht — and a 12-metre motorboat with a skipper off the Rock looks and feels a great deal like what most people mean by a yacht. Platform vocabulary does not help; the figures do. Our yacht rental in Monaco guide covers the formats, Monaco by boat for a day the routes, and the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 page the week when everything fills up. See also the platform comparison.
Cap d'Ail 1.2 km away, and one of Europe's busiest shipping corridors
The Principality has a single marina, but the OpenStreetMap extract shows a heavily equipped coast on either side: Port de Cap d'Ail at 1.2 km, then, westward, Port de Beaulieu (7.3 km), Port de Pierre Fourmis (7.9 km), Port de Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat (8.5 km), Port de la Santé (9.4 km) and Port de la Darse (9.9 km) in Villefranche; eastward, the old harbour of Menton (8.6 km) and Port de Menton-Garavan (9.5 km). Boarding at Cap d'Ail rather than Monaco mostly changes the parking and the berth price, not the cruising ground. The marina hub around Monaco lists them one by one. These are the waters of the Pelagos Sanctuary, and their traffic has been measured: a study by Frazer Guy Coomber, Massimo D'Incà, Massimiliano Rosso, Paola Tepsich, Giuseppe Notarbartolo di Sciara and Aurélie Moulins, published in 2016 in Marine Policy, used an AIS receiver in the north of the sanctuary between 3 May 2013 and 31 October 2014. The tally: 3,757,587 kilometres of vessel traffic recorded, 82,831 transits, 4,205 distinct vessels flying the flags of 90 states, including 435,116 kilometres of hazardous cargo transits. Passenger vessels dominate (20,853 transits) and are the fastest, averaging 15.47 knots; traffic is distributed unevenly in space and differs between day and night (see the study). Put differently: the bay you cross by yacht is also a motorway, and that is a sound reason to leave the helm to a professional.
