The authors distinguish continuous, undisturbed sedimentation in the central and southern parts, a western part under erosion or selective resuspension of fine particles, and an eastern part marked by input from the Jadro river and by human activity, with higher caesium activities and strong sediment mixing (see the study). What that means afloat: the east of the bay is muddy and stirred, and clear water is found to the south, towards the Šolta and Brač channels.
