€304 median: the lowest in our current readings

Reading of 25 August 2026 for a 24 September outing: 40 offers, median €304 per day, first offer at €140, the dearest at €4,832. That is the lowest median of our ten bases this week, and the lowest across our current readings — below Lefkada (€360), Marseille (€373) and Šibenik (€376). It rests on the 11 sailboats at a €283 median (€182 to €550), which form the core of the catalogue. The ceiling comes from elsewhere: five yachts at a €3,483 median (€1,633 to €4,832) are enough to create a 1-to-34 ratio between the first and last offer. A low median therefore does not mean a homogeneous catalogue — the exact opposite of Preveza and its 1-to-5 ratio. The nearest marina is 7.7 km away: Rijeka is a commercial port

This is the only one of our ten bases where no marina is recorded within five kilometres: the first, Luka, is 7.7 km out, followed by Volosko-Preluk at 9.2 km, Volosko at 9.7 km, Admiral at 11 km, Luka Kraljevica at 11.2 km, ACI Marina Opatija and Luka Bakarac at 12 km, Lučica Ičići at 12.3 km, Ika at 12.8 km, Medveja at 14.8 km, Jadranovo at 17.4 km and Njivice, on Krk, at 19.6 km — 32 marinas in all within the 60 km radius (OpenStreetMap records). In other words: Kvarner boating happens in Opatija and along the Ičići riviera, not in Rijeka's commercial basin — allow for the transfer. Further south, the Cres-Lošinj archipelago holds a closely monitored population: a study by Grgur Pleslić and colleagues, published in 2015 in Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, estimated the archipelago's common bottlenose dolphins by photo-identification from 2004 to 2011 at between 112 animals (2008) and 310 (2006), and records a lower average monthly sighting rate during the tourist season (June-August) than before and after it — suggesting that developed nautical tourism shifts the animals' habitat use (see the study).
