Boat Rental Prices: What Our Nightly Price Readings Show

24,781 offers observed across 183 destinations between 4 and 23 July 2026: Portofino and Saint-Tropez at the top, Sète and Brittany at the bottom. Real medians, methodology included.

Every night, Boat-Comparator queries the major rental platforms and records the prices actually displayed. Between 4 and 23 July 2026, this robot produced 425 readings covering 183 destinations and 24,781 observed offers. Here is what those figures say — our own data, not estimates.

The method, in full transparency

Each reading samples the price of a one-day rental roughly 30 days ahead (here: August 2026 outings), aggregates all offers returned for the destination, and keeps the median. The per-destination figure below is the median of those readings (2 to 4 per destination over the period). Small samples, yes — but real, timestamped, reproducible prices; our statistics page is recomputed every night with fresh data.

The most expensive destinations in our readings

DestinationRecorded median (€/day)Offers observed
Portofino (Italy)€2,800124
Antalya (Turkey)€2,706146
Saint-Tropez€2,480137
Mahé (Seychelles)€2,338101
Athens€2,152271
Bodrum (Turkey)€1,788176
Amalfi (Italy)€1,600218
Mykonos€1,600276

Why such peaks? Fleet composition. In Portofino, Antalya or Athens, supply is dominated by yachts and large skippered or crewed boats: the median reflects what the destination offers, not an inflated price for the same boat. Athens is the telling case: 271 offers observed — one of the deepest markets in our panel — and still a €2,152 median, because the Saronic charter fleet is built of large crewed units.

The cheapest destinations

At the other end of the table, France's Atlantic coast and Languedoc line up medians under €300 a day: Sète (€200), Perros-Guirec (€270), Gruissan and Royan (€279), Brest and Bénodet (€282), Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and Deauville (€290), Lorient (€291). Family-sized motorboats, RIBs and sailboats — and an excellent nautical-miles-per-euro ratio. Worth noting: these are not marginal markets with three boats for rent. Deauville, Brest or La Baule each returned between roughly 100 and 165 offers over the period; the supply is deep, it is simply built of smaller, more affordable boats than on the Riviera.

A 1-to-14 gap, and what it pays for

Between Sète and Portofino, the median varies 1 to 14. That gap is no anomaly: it measures two different markets — the family coastal outing on one side, crewed charter on the other. Economic research shows this second market feeds far more than the charter companies: in the Balearics, yacht charter generates substantial spillovers for hotels, restaurants and local maintenance businesses (Alcover, Alemany, Jacob, Payeras, García & Martínez-Ribes, The Economic Impact of Yacht Charter Tourism on the Balearic Economy, Tourism Economics, 2011, DOI).

August figures, to be reread in winter

One important caveat: these readings sample August outings, the absolute peak of the Mediterranean season. The medians published here are therefore high-season medians; the same destinations sampled for June or September departures will yield different figures — which is precisely what our nightly collection will keep measuring month after month, and one of the reasons these readings exist: tracking the real movement of prices rather than copying frozen ranges. If you read this article off-season, treat these values as a reference ceiling rather than today's price.

How to use these medians

A median is not a quote: it situates a destination, not your boat. To know the price of your outing, the right reflex remains comparing platforms on your dates — that is Boat-Comparator's job — and crossing with the price per boat type, far more discriminating than the destination. General price ranges are detailed in our guide how much a boat rental costs.
